Photo Tag

Kammy over at Small Home in the Country has tagged me for photo tag. These are my instructions:

Go to your photo files...
Select the 6th photo folder...
Select the 6th photo in that folder...
Post that photo along with the story behind it.
Then challenge 6 blog friends to do the same!

So my dilemma is that I actually have 3 different photo files.

First is the photo files on my computer in my documents/pictures:

This photo was taken for a post showing all my blue & white transferware. This photo shows part of one shelf in my antique secretary in my kitchen. The covered dish came from Home Goods a year or two ago. I collect cream and/or white dishes as well. I bought it because it had a birdie on top. The dutch girl & the dutch shoes came from a thrift store. I bought them to remind me of when we went to Amsterdam in 2003.

Second I use Picasa for storing photos as well. So the this is the 6th photo in my 6th folder:

This is my nephew Jase on his 21st birthday on May 19th. His sister gave him a pirate party and made him this hat. Jase closed his eyes when I took this photo.

And finally I have photos stored in Picasa exports. So this is the 6th photo in the 6th folder stored there:

This is my grandson Gunner. This was taken last December right before Christmas. Gunner would have been 16 months old in this photo. We had taken him down to Old Town Temecula to get his photo taken with Santa. He wasn't having any of that. He screamed & cried the whole time he was with Santa. Afterwards we all went to dinner at a Chinese Buffet. Here is Gunner's first attempt at crab legs. They were really his Daddy's, but he was having fun dipping them in the butter & just playing with them. The photo is a bit blurry as Gunner never stays still for very long.

Well I hope that you don't mind that I actually showed 3 photos. But they all qualify in my mind.

Welcome

Hi! My name is Kim and I started this blog so that our extended family could reconnect with one another. We are all descendants of Merlin & Edith Manning (or married to someone who is). There are 3 branches to our Manning Family Tree. Branch 1 is Dorothy's family (I belong to this branch). Branch 2 is Joni's family. And Branch 3 is Marilyn's family. And of course each branch now has sub branches as the grand children (of which I am one) have their own families & now even the sub branches have sub branches as some of the great grandchildren have their own families as well.

It has been my hope that each member of my extended family would want to be a part of this blog and participate. It's been iffy at best. But some of them do participate with me & some have their own blogs. I've listed those under Family Blogs. At least we are getting to know each other again & I love it!!

The rules of our blog are that we can post as little or as much as we want. We can add photos, videos, funny jokes, emails that we receive & want to share, join in other bloggers memes (blog parties), etc. But most importantly to let us know what is going on in each others lives. Kind of like a journal that we are willing to let everyone read. There really are no rules. Just to be sure to log on every few days to see what is new. Or you can subscribe & you will be notified each time there is a new post.

Even if you are not family, you are more than welcome to enjoy our blog & leave comments. The more the merrier! We love making new friends and are not opposed to adoption.
