What's on my kitchen walls

Welcome to another edition of "What's on Your Wall Wednesday" hosted by Barb at Grits and Glamour. Be sure to stop off at her blog (if you haven't already done so) and say "Hi", then check out her walls and see everyone else who is participating.

This week I am showing you my kitchen walls. My kitchen and family room are actually one big room, but I am just going to show you the 3 walls in the kitchen part. You'll just have to wait another week for the family room walls. Patience is a virtue, or so they say.

First we start on the east wall & in the corner at the end of my cabinets. I got this salad plate on clearance at Marshall's last month. I wish they would have had more, but alas, he was an orphan & I couldn't just leave him in the store. I had to bring him home. Why am I calling it a "him", looks pretty girly to me. Oh well.

The tea cup rack I got at a craft/antique show down in San Diego years ago. The cup & saucer on the top left is "American Beauty" by Royal Albert. I got it at a thrift store. The top right is "Old Country Roses" by Royal Albert. I purchased it in London in 2003. The bottom right is Treasures by Rachel Ashwell. It came from Mervyn's years ago before I had ever heard of "Shabby Chic", and finally the bottom left is a complete mystery. There is no logo or stamp on the bottom of the cup or the saucer. It came from a thrift store as well.

Here is a close up of the orphan plate. It is called Antique Reflections by J Godinger & Co.
This pink plate is on the end of my cabinets. It came from Marshall's. It is Old Britain Castles by Johnson Brothers.
Here is the view of this little corner of my kitchen. My little cabinet from JC Penney fits perfectly in this corner. I store some of my dishes in here (notice that I said "some").

I have a lot of roosters in my kitchen & this wall pocket hangs on the side of one of my cabinets. No, I did not hand paint this, it came from a craft show a long time ago.
As you probably know, I love anything Parisian or Frenchy so when I saw this sign on a website I had to buy it. I have been to Paris, but unfortunately did not get to go to a Paris flea market. I must go back someday so I can.

Here is an overall view of the wall where this sign hangs. You can see the top of the cabinets on this side of my kitchen. I collect roosters, pitchers, crocks, jars. If you see any dust or dirt, don't blame me, I'm not the cleaning lady (as you can tell).
Next we will move onto the north wall. I always wanted a huge wall clock but they were always too much money. I found this clock a couple of years ago in a clearance type store in San Diego. I can't remember what it is called right now, but they get all the left over, last few items from Costco. I think I paid $20.00 for this clock. The "Cafe de Paris" sign was an ebay find.
The kitchen tin sign is a left over from stock I sold on ebay a few years back. I wanted to make sure everyone knows where they are (like they couldn't figure it out with a stove, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, etc). LOL. I think I might still have a few if anyone is interested.

Here is an overview of the top of the cabinets where this sign hangs. More collections. My friends and family seem to think I have enough stuff. Can you ever have too much stuff? Don't answer that.
These 2 frenchy plates came from "Welcome Home" store years ago. I still love them.
And finally we end up on the west wall. This mirror I have a love/hate relationship with. I love the style and the fact that my hubby made it. But I hate that his exwife painted the ivy on it. I want to paint it black, but so far, hubby doesn't want me too. He loves the ivy (but luckily he hates his exwife). Some day he might just come home to find it painted black. I will tell him the paint spilled on it. Do you think he'll buy that? And you can see in the mirror the little wall just walking into my kitchen. This is where the mail is suppose to go. At least we do hang our keys up there. If I didn't, I'd never find them.
This is the area just to the left of the mirror. This is the largest wall in my kitchen. I have an antique secretary that belonged to my MIL that stores all my blue & white china that I collect as well as antiques my hubby collects. I put a Cafe de Paris mirror above it (another ebay purchase) and currently have 3 bunny plates hanging above. They are a recent purchase from Ross (I know, I know, I'm not suppose to be spending any money. But they were too cute.) Normally I have some of my blue & white plates hanging here.
To the left of the secretary I have this plate rack. Normally these plates are in my hutch, but I have my cabbage plates there, so I moved these plates to my kitchen wall. Because it is spring (almost) I thought the pink plates went better for spring than my blue & white plates. The top plate came from Marshall's, the middle plate I bought at an antique shop years ago and the bottom plate is a set of plates that I bought from Ross a few years back.
Then finally at the far left I have another Cafe de Paris sign, purchased from the same website as the other Paris sign. (I just realized I have 3 different signs in my kitchen that says "Cafe de Paris", I could have used them in "Three or more Tuesday") The cabinet came from another online website. I just put the spring/Easter decor on it tonight. The silver basket was a recent thrift store find, the 3 different colored bunnies just came from Target, the egg cup is thrift store, the bunny box is from Home Goods, the salt cellar is a thrift store find, the little biddy chicks are from Big Lots and finally the bunny creamer is from Home Goods.
Here is an overall look of this wall.

So there you have my kitchen walls. My walls are still white. Only because I am too lazy to paint. I should paint as I hate white walls. I have lived with white walls for 30 years (apartment living). Now that I have my own house, I should paint, but I guess I'm just so used to white walls. If I keep posting photos of what's on my walls, maybe it will motivate me to paint them. I hate seeing the white walls in the photos.

If you want to see the blue & white china that I usually have on my walls, you can click here & it will take you to that post.

Thanks for stopping by, and next week why don't you join the "What's on your wall Wednesday" party (if you haven't already done so).
